England 30 - 17 Wales
Scotland 9 - 18 France
That first round of this Six Nations editions looked like "une remise en jambes" for the different teams.
The opening match was the grand Slam winner Ireland against Italy, the spoon winner of the last edition. It wasn't a great match but it had its moment. Ireland logically won but they didn't impress me as much as they did, last year, for their first match. The Italian team did give them some challenge at time, creating some good opportunities but letting itself down too many times and making too many mistakes against a team like Ireland, even thought they did contain them in the second half but the Irish team did had some good time with two good tries.
* Ireland 29 - 11 Italy

Then it was the centenary of Twickenham and on that occasion the English team was wearing what I thought to be some very nice shirt, yop very nice ; ) and for that anniversary, England did won over Wales thing that didn't happen since 2006.
Now both didn't do too good during the November tests and the match started with the two teams taking a long look at each other to star to get really into the match a little bit before the half time. In the second half the English didn't wait before starting to put on the pressure over the Welsh, as Alun-Wyn Jones had been sin bench after un croc en jambe, digne de ce nom ! lol, so, bad karma followed even if they had un bon baroude with the try of Adam Jones the English team took over assuring themselves the lead. Finally the Welsh team "arrived" into the match not too long before the end of it, putting down their game to quickly run back on the score with James Hook 20 to 17, than England had a nice last reaction with Delon Armitage stilling a ball to Toby Flood to send Mathew Tait running through the field to make a chistera to Jim Haskell for the last try of the match.
* England 30 - 17 Wales
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/rugby_union/8502613.stm

1 Pen: S. Jones
Than for Scotland v France, they did play an interesting first half, as the second one fell into some type of a fake rhythm. France was strong on the basics with a clear domination on the scrum. The XV Tricolore marked two tries on the fist half, both by Mathieu Bastareaud who was coming back into the team after his ban . The French team did create couple of other good occasions, but in the second half the Scottish team did keep them at range. During the entire match they never stopped to test the French team on any occasion, but they never found the key to get to cross the line.
Now it's a good star in the Tournament for the French team but there is more work to do on tighten up their game before the next match against Ireland.
* Scotland 9 - 18 France

The second turn of the Tournament had some good excitement matches as the teams were getting really into it après la remise en jambes of the last week.
Scotland had some very interesting match, but Wales as we saw last week, is using some type of a potion that take full effect by the end of the match lol So the Welsh team went back on the Scottish who were leading 18 to 9 in the last half hour coming back onto a draw, than, in the last minute they made an opening for Sean Williams who went to nail the victory.
Now very unfortunately there was some serious accident for Scotland and Thom Evans was badly hurt on the neck and went through surgery during the night. The surgery seems to have been a success and the doctor says that he can move his arms and legs.

* France 33 – 10 Ireland
before we got to the day of the match, Keith Earl, in a press conference had decided de postillonner dans nos yeux de peuple ovale avec une histoire de pingouins. Maintenant on serait en droit de se demander : mais que vient faire une histoire de pingouins dans le rugby ??? et bien, j'en sais rien ? mais ce qui est sûre c'est je n'ai pas trop apprécié le postillon dans mon œil.
The match started with a big pressure of the Irish onto the French team that did hold on good and after a quarter into the match, avec nos poupons qui étaient à tomber, the French team started to put down their game. They marked three nice tries, one with Mathieu Bastareau making a chistera for Clément Poitronaud's try and it's Frédéric Michalak who nail the score of the match with a last drop goal. The French team did show some of her good qualities and it's a nice victory, I glad for them. Now there is still some work to do to go get the Welsh team at home.

The Italian team did give a good shake up to the English team who was very messy at putting down their game. The Italian team never stop on trying things, but there was too many moments were the two teams were observing each other, having some "pingpong rugby" going. Now the match had its moment.
For the XV de la Squadra:
4 Pens: M. Bergamasco
For the XV de la rose:

Sunday, 28 Feb 2010 — MarieWales 20 - 26 France
Italy 16 - 12 Scotland
England 16 - 20 Ireland
So the third round of the tournament started Friday evening, for the second time in the tournament. Last year was a first and again involving the Welsh and French teams for the second time in those evening matches into the tournament. There was
different reaction. about it
Now, personally, the only place where I don't mind to have an evening match, in the winter, is at the Millennium Stadium because of its roof. Still the Friday evening is harsh on supporters from any countries. But now, I do have a question are we the only teams that are plan to play on Fridays evenings or what ?
* Wales 20 - 26 France
Une mi – temps pour chacun ou how they call it….half time
France went to grab a no easy victory in Wales, with a different tactic that for the two previous matches where they did have play a more open rugby than for that match. They started fast at first marking two tries from good stolen ball, creating couple of occasions getting stop before the cross line, but without leaving the Welsh team get really into the match. Wales was trying things but that didn't work and the two teams went into the half time 20 to 0 for France.
Than in the second half, the screenplay of the last round with the match Wales against Scotland was still "hunting the place" and did start again. The French team came back
"tête en l'air " and was put right there under the Welsh pressure as they did start to put down their game and marking two tries. But the French team hold on tight as they play at fourteen after French scrum half, Morgan Parra was yellow carded and send to the bench for… what I honestly don't know? as I just got distracted for couple of second at that moment. But the Welsh team was keeping on putting good pressure on the French team - with every supporters having in mind their last game – but the French team did good to contain them as
the Welsh team started from too far to get this win. Now it's a good victory for the French team to put under their belt as it leaves some good work to do.

Sunday, 14 Mar 2010 — Mariefor me Friday started with a nice evening win for the Stade Toulousain and after the match some friends and I went out and we did end up the festivities on Saturday morning ….so… for this 4 th tour of the Tournament I did "went back to life" not far from the beginning of the first match and … I had to watch the TV with my sun glasses on… alors euh …bon ! lollllll mais j'étais d'aplomb pour Dimanche !!!!! : )
So there will be no wooden spoon for that edition of the tournament after Italy left it away in the previous round and it was the turn of Scotland to live it behind having a draw against England, though the Calcutta Cup remain at the same place. Now there was two game accidents one with Jonny Wilkinson hurting his head against Max Evans and one more serious with Ugo Monye hurting his head too against Kelly Brown, he was then send to the hospital but it seems that it's not so bad and that he his doing ok, but he has been rule out for the match against France.
Ireland went on their good dynamic started after their lost in Paris and then after the English team, they went to take over the Welsh team, at home, a Welsh team who had a good possession but who didn't find the key making too many mistakes against a strong Irish team.
Than, the French team put some good qualities on, setting some very good pressure on the Italian team, laying down their game, marking some very nice tries. Marc Andreu and Alexandre Lapandry did mark their first try for the French team on that occasion. Now as soon as the French did release their attention, the Italians took their chance and they quickly built on to go for two nice tries, but they made to many mistake against a good French team who took a nice option to win the tournament.
Now the Grand Slam is going to be play over the crunch next weekend – the crunch being the name of the match France against England – in the Stade de France.
